johnderson asked:

Both seems really appealing though there is a lot more hyp over the VR. I don’t really like Nike and I’ve never gotten into their products but do these irons really live up to this hyp or is it just because Tiger Woods plays these? Which line of clubs is better all around?

i tried out the ap irons and they are the smoothest feeling clubs out there i think and i added 5 yards on each club from my other set (Nike Slingshots OSS)
if the money doesnt matter go with the ap irons

Hey, I just bought the AP2’s. I am a scratch player when playing once per week. These are a great feeling clubs, the distance consistancy is absolutely great. They are the best club I have hit for gearing down for knockdown shots! I changed from the Callaway X-16 pro series, not sure if I lost distance or not (started when the weather changed), but I dont think I lost any. These clubs have great feel, the AP1’s are a lil more forgiving but not quite as good for consistant distance. I recommend the clubs to anyone who strikes the ball well.

And a note for everyone. If you play ProV1x, when it cools off go ahead and change to the regular ProV1. They wont make a lot of distance with longer clubs, but the x wont compress correctly with the shorter shots (like 125 yrds). Hope this helps everyone who is playing this ball.

Hope this helps your question about the AP irons.

Sadly the only way to compare the AP series with the nike VR is by the VR full cavity back. The blades and half cavity don’t have the forgiveness and Weight that the AP’s have and quite frankly, are a complete differant look. When players buy blades, it is because they want the look. Science tells us that the metal, forged or cast, has no bearing on the workability of a club, that is the mental aspect. The only things that work the ball are club head path and face angle, Call a spade a spade but the club is a preference, if you can hit the Nike Blades, Like the way they look, feel, preform, then you are better than more than 75% of golfers alive.
