johnderson asked:
Mizuno irons are often praised as being the nicest in many ways. Definitely comparable to Titleist products and sometimes deemed better. Why don’t more professionals play mizuno whereas many slightly above average golfers tend to like them? Is it because they are made in Japan or is it because they lack something critical that pros demand?

Its possible that mizuno doesnt offer people high prices to play with their clubs on the tour. I have played with all the good clubs and personally im not into the Mizunos either. who knows could be anything.

I think it’s the publicity. How many commercials do you see about callaway and nike? A bunch. How many mizuno? None, other then some ads in golf magazines. So players attract to “the next big thing” that callaway and nike advertise. Yet you hear nothing about mizuno’s clubs, and how they are amazing.
And finally, most golf companies don’t aim to attracting to the pros neccesarily, they focus on average golfers like us. It meant to help us, the average golfer. Pro’s use blades and are way out of our league, and mizuno can’t provide the equipment they need, so they turn to callaway and nike. Mizuno’s focus is the average american, not an unaverage pro.

Pros play with what they are sponsored to play with.

Mizuno does not do alot of promotion of its product, which includes paying players to use their clubs. They let the club promote itself, and it does this well. The quality of mizuno golf products is pretty much un-matched.
Trivia: Tiger used to use Titleist Irons, not Mizuno. He may have way back in the day, but never as a pro.

In actuality it has more to do with the fact that Mizuno does not pay a lot of pros to endorse their product. Callaway and Titleist do

Mizuno cant afford to pay the pros unlike titleist, nike, callaway etc… the pros get a lot money to play certian clubs. and Mizunuo dosent have their bankroll. They are however one of the best made set of irons on the market.

They are popular on professional tours, just not the PGA. You go to Europe and Japanese tours, you’ll see many players playing Mizuno irons.

MIZUNO doesn’t advertise much. I mean,
yeah they support golfers like Luke Donald and Stacy Lewis,
but they’re just few.
unlike NIKE on the other hand,
who has Tiger Woods and Michelle Wie.
same as CALLAWAY,
who has Sorenstam and Ernie Els.
Trivia: Did you know that Tiger used to use Mizuno clubs before Nike paid him to switch in exchange of big bucks?

Tiger had Nike make him a copy of the Mizuno he likes and put the Nike swosh on it. Bottom line Mizuno doesnt pay people to play there product.
