Does a golf club go dead as a an aluminum bat would in baseball?

I just bought new clubs and im wondering if they will ever quit out on me. Baseball bats go dead after numerous times of hitting a baseball. Will this ever happen to my brand new golf clubs?

40 some odd years of playing golf and I have never heard of a club going dead.
